Installation Instructions

First, you will need to decide whether to mount your brackets on the top of the valve cover or the bottom. Three things to consider are comfort, looks and engine protection. If you already have engine guards installed then you will have to mount your brackets on the top. If you do not have engine guards installed, installing the brackets on the bottom may provide some protection for your valve covers in the event that you drop your bike.

Note: The following pictures show the installation procedures for mounting on the top. Mounting on the bottom is the same procedure, but using the bottom two valve cover bolts instead.


Using a 6mm Allen wrench, loosen the top or bottom bolts and extend them out as far as they will go. Leave the metal washer against the grommet.	Slide the rear portion of the bracket onto the aft valve cover bolt between the metal washer and the bolt head.		Rotate the front slot of the bracket down onto the forward valve cover bolt between the metal washer and the bolt head.

Push the bracket against the metal washer.		Tighten the valve cover bolts to approximately 8 newt/meters or 5.9 pounds/feet.

That's all there is to it! You are now ready to mount your footpegs

and S-T-R-E-T-C-H your legs out on your next trip.

Caution: Over-tightening the bolts can cause stripping of the threads or splitting of the rubber grommet causing an oil leak. Under-tightening them may cause an oil leak from the valve cover gasket. The torque values above are estimates.

Caution: These brackets are made from 3/16" steel and will easily support your foot resting against the footpeg that is installed on it. However, DO NOT STAND ON THE FOOTPEG ONCE IT IS INSTALLED! Standing on the footpeg may cause damage to the bracket. NEVER try to stand on the footpeg while your motorcycle is in motion! This could result in a loss of control and severe physical injury.
